FINGERPRINTING FAQs

What is Electronic Livescan Fingerprinting?

The Live Scan fingerprinting process is a digital method of securely scanning your fingerprints using an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) verses ink-styled fingerprints that are rolled onto a paper card. At the completion of the scan, results are transmitted to a California (or Federal) agency to perform a background check.

Live Scan produces high quality results to mitigate illegible fingerprints and improve application processing time. Live Scan also helps to avoid many problems associated with ink prints such as smearing, over/under inking and smudging.

Your Live Scan fingerprints are then confidentially transmitted directly to the Department of Justice – results are sent within two business days to your employer or licensing agency.

What are your prices?

Please contact our office for prices as certain Live Scan fingerprinting costs vary based on the form you provide to us from the requesting agency.

Do you have a link to the various forms I might need?
