  • An identification card or driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles;
  • United States passport;
  • Valid consular identification document issued by a consulate from the applicant’s country of citizenship, or a valid passport from the applicant’s country of citizenship;
  • Driver’s license issued by another state or by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue driver’s licenses;
  • An identification card issued by another state;
  • United States military identification card;
  • An employee identification card issued by an agency or office of the State of California, or an agency or office of a city, county, or city and county in California;

  • An inmate identification card issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, if the inmate is in custody in California state prison; or, any form of inmate identification issued by a sheriff’s department, if the inmate is in custody in a local detention facility.

What If I don't have any identification (Or it is expired)?

Mobile Certification Services LLC will notarize your document(s) with TWO Credible Witnesses (or ONE, if the witness knows both you and the notary personally) if you find yourself:

– without valid government ID mentioned above;
– under the age of 18 years old;
– unable to sign your name by mark; and/or,
– have a document requiring witness(es).

Please complete the Contact Us form and include any details prior to notarization.

What is a credible witness

A credible {identifying} witness is an individual who knows and can verify the identity of a signer. The witness appears at the time of the notarization and takes an oath or affirmation before the Notary that the signer is who they claim to be due to the lack of other forms of ID.
